Vegetable Garden experience

I decided to grow a garden this year! It's been so fun and I'm so glad I did it. Above is how it started, and below is today.

As you can see, the cherry tomato plant kind of went crazy! I could've planned that one better. But here is a list of what I planted my first year:

Cherri Tomatoes

Can you believe all of that is in there?!?! The only thing that wasn't successful was the onions. Who knows what happened there.

If you are wondering, I used two 4x4 boxes. One was 6" and one was 12". I used Mel's mix in both which is 1/3 peat moss, 1/3 vermiculite, and 1/3 compost (which needs to be a blend of at least 5 different kinds). This is what I learned for gardening to be successful: water, and harvest. Tada! That's it! It's been super fun and I'm excited to try some different things next year.

  1. First of all (cause I don't think I've commented about it) I'm loving your new blog. I think it's a great idea and I kind of wish I'd done that with mine because what you were saying about your old blog is exactly what I was feeling about mine, but oh well. That sounds like a process I don't have time to go through right now. Lemme see... I loved your's and Clay's story. So glad you posted it! Love your piano decor. Agree about the Bible, but trust me, the New Testament's way better. I loved it, even Paul's letters after I learned how to understand them. And I'm so happy about your garden! Mom has been studying up to do one as soon as she's feeling up to it and I'm so excited! Especially seeing what you got out of it! And above all, you are so beautiful in all the pictures. :) Love you!

  2. That looks great! We square foot garden too and it's amazing how much more you can fit into a tiny space.

  3. Super cool. You look really pretty holding that zucchini like a baby. Love the flowers! Wish I could eat it all with you. So cool. Love you!

  4. danielle that is so cool!!! I'm so happy for you!!! You have inspired me to do a garden next year! love you!
